As a Child`s Shelf.Bedroom nightstands are small, and so they fit into the nursery or a small child`s room effortlessly. Put the little board books on the shelves or the special treasures in the drawers. Children will have an easier time accessing a smaller piece of furniture, so a nightstand is ideal. Your child`s imagination could even make it into a fire department or doll house during playtime.
A final thing to remember when purchasing a nightstand is to always check for quality and sturdiness. You want a nightstand that will be durable and long lasting. A nightstand is a considerable purchase therefore; you don`t want to have to buy another one after only a few months because the first one fell apart. Be sure to look for top quality when purchasing your nightstand. Check your drawers and test it for overall durability. Go shopping with a solid plan and you`ll be sure to find a quality night stand that works perfectly in your bedroom.
What comes to my mind immediately is a natural rattan that is totally unpainted. Rattan is made in the West Indies, thus it fits well in a West Indies bedroom without sacrificing the utilitarian necessity of a nightstand. If you have been to the West Indies, you may have noticed that they make the most wonderful tables out of three sticks and two copper plates, one large and one smaller. The sticks will hold up the platters and bingo you have an ethnic nightstand.
Eye Catching. Mirror nightstands with their highly reflective surfaces are a natural eye catcher and conversation starter. Most people in fact have never seen mirrored furniture before and are instantly impressed at just how much they stand out and add to a room. This makes them a great idea for anyone looking for a focal point which is not just attractive but functional too.
As a Television Shelf. Nightstands make great TV platforms. Place one in your bedroom or the kitchen on one of those extra bedroom nightstands. If the nightstand is large enough, you can take out the top drawer and fit your DVD player in that space. The small size of the nightstand makes it the obvious choice to go with a small television.
