As a Child`s Shelf.Bedroom nightstands are small, and so they fit into the nursery or a small child`s room effortlessly. Put the little board books on the shelves or the special treasures in the drawers. Children will have an easier time accessing a smaller piece of furniture, so a nightstand is ideal. Your child`s imagination could even make it into a fire department or doll house during playtime.
Nightstands - Convenient Bedroom Furniture. The thing about nightstands is that people hardly notice them except when they need a table to put some things on. It is only then when they have the satisfaction of putting things on top of a night table that people appreciate the serviceability of nightstands. There are many kinds of nightstands being sold in furniture shops and they are usually considered minor furniture because they are just small inexpensive items. Actually nightstands are night tables or bedside tables usually found in the bedroom near the bed or in any convenient spot in the bedroom.
Different Ways to Use Nightstands. Nightstands have been a classic part of bedroom furniture for generations. Having a place to rest a glass of water and a lamp for late night reading makes perfect sense. Maybe there is a great deal at your local furniture store or maybe your aunt gave you a couple of her old ones. Whether you are wondering what to do with your spare nightstand or want to think of unusual ways to shake up your decorating with nightstands, take a look at these five different uses for bedroom nightstands.
Another great thing about nightstands today is that they do not have to be next to the bed. Because they are available in so many styles and colors they look attractive in any room of the house as well as out on the porch filled with plants. One in the bathroom might hold soaps and towels, one in the living room can hold magazines and remote controls, one in the kitchen can be a tea-stand and one in the entryway can hold a basket items such as keys.
What comes to my mind immediately is a natural rattan that is totally unpainted. Rattan is made in the West Indies, thus it fits well in a West Indies bedroom without sacrificing the utilitarian necessity of a nightstand. If you have been to the West Indies, you may have noticed that they make the most wonderful tables out of three sticks and two copper plates, one large and one smaller. The sticks will hold up the platters and bingo you have an ethnic nightstand.
